Day 3/21… Breakfast

It’s a good Morning with a healthy and yummy breakfast sandwich!!!

I am not a morning or breakfast person! In fact I am happiest when I wake up, drink coffee, and not function more than that for at least an hour. Sadly that means that my body starts out sluggish.

Our bodies are like cars. (Hubs is a mechanic so this analogy works for me). Cars need oil, lube, and fuel to run and run well. Fuel makes a car go, the type of fuel used can effect the efficiency and longevity of your car as well as how much fuel you give it determines how long it will drive you down the road!

So as gas is to a car, food is to our bodies!!

Food is our fuel! If we feed it well we have energy and can accomplish all we need and want through the day! If we don’t give it adequate fuel it slows down and becomes sluggish and you are less effective during the day! Now, when we over feed our bodies or feed it junk then it also becomes sluggish trying to rid itself of unwanted and unneeded “chemicals”!

It was only when I grasped this concept of it’s not “just how many calories” you eat but truly WHAT the calories are coming from and how often that I was able to completely change my relationship with food!

I always believed if I wanted to be skinny just eat less, so I honestly spent years starving my body all day and eating only one large, maybe two meals. Even if it was healthy it wasn’t healthy for my body!

If you don’t eat breakfast and are looking to be healthier I strongly recommend a nutritional breakfast of proteins and healthy carbs! I add veggies such as spinach and I truly function better all day than I would otherwise have been!

This one change seems so small but truly it makes a huge difference toward our goals!!
